Join us for the Ozark Highland Sheep and Fiber Festival, March 20 and 21sth

Our Story

Mesta Meadows is located on the eastern edge of the beautiful Ozark Highlands. We are located about 2 hours southwest of St. Louis, and 2 1/2 hours northwest of Memphis. Our mission is to provide our livestock with an amazing life grazing on the lush hillside pastures and green valleys, our guests with an incredible farm experience,  and our customers with local, wholesome, and fun food!

We raise our sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, and poultry on free range pastures and supplement this with grain and minerals to ensure optimal health. We provide antibiotic and hormone free, eggs, meat, and raw dairy products.  We are one of the few Sheep diaries in Missouri!  We have a little bit of something for everyone here at Mesta Meadows and hope you will come to shop at our on-farm store - The Mason Jar Store, visit the animals, and join us for our annual Ozark Highland Sheep and Fiber Festival. We offer overnight camping, group tours, and an on-farm store.

Our Rambouillet (French Merino) sheep produce award winning fleeces with an average 19.2 micron with some of our ewes produce sub-18 micron fleeces with a 100% comfort factor (this is an ultra fine fleece).  We started our flock with fine wool sheep from some of the best ranches in North America, then we have continually worked to improve their wool through breeding, pasture management, and nutrition management. The result is we have been honored to have artisan spinners and weavers from every state in the US, every province in Canada, Scotland, Ireland, England, and Iceland purchase our wool.

In 2026 we started a new chapter when we opened the Atelait Creamery on our ranch. We are offering a unique, ultra premium French custard based ice cream. Our lactose friendly ice cream is super creamy, rich, and all natural. We only use real fruits and ingredients, no artificial flavorings or additives. Because it is made from sheep's milk, the ice cream is all A2, and easier to digest than other ice creams. Since we use our own sheep to produce the milk, and it is manufactured on our own ranch in an approved dairy production facility, we can provide full traceability on our products.

Come visit us, meet our incredible livestock, sample our ice cream and enjoy our beautiful ranch. And maybe take home some amazing merino socks, wool to spin, great beef, or just some amazing memories!
